A Warm Hello,
Today is exceptionally fall-ish. The branches of the
Dogberry Tree, just outside my window, are swaying in the chilly air. Their
leaves of rust, purple, and yellow still hold enough green to bring to mind
summer. Their colors are a stark contrast to the lush, red, berries that the
branch holds, lovely. There is something adventurous and romantic in days like these. The shadows
close in a little earlier than a few short days ago. Readying us for the dark,
heavier days of winter. It’s on days like these that I love to go for long drives
or take a walk around the block, drinking in the crispness of the air. I think
fall is a time to slow down and rest. Rest from the unscheduled hurry of
summer. I think it’s a very important time for the mind and soul, a time to
regroup. That may be my favorite thing about fall.
I have yet to post about one of my greatest passions – Music. Thomas Carlyle describes my feelings about music more eloquently then I could "All deep things are songs. It seems somehow the very central essence of us, songs; as if all the rest were but wrappages and hulls" I
thought I'd leave you with a list of
my favorite songs to listen to during fall. Songs to help when I want to relax
and be still. Take a minute to check out some of the songs, they may become
some of your favorites too. Hope you enjoy.
