Hello, Hi, How Are You?
It's been a while hope you are having a great week. Well, I wanted to share a little something you may or may not
know about me I am a major theatre buff! I have always been in love with the stage. I love being on
stage, back stage, or in a seat watching the stage. I had an amazing job during my high
school and university years. I was employed with a company, singing and acting
for nine years. It was amazing!!! I love the job I’m at now but those theatre days were some of my best days (so far). There is no better feeling then putting
on makeup and a costume and becoming someone or something totally different
then who you are or different then what you show others. I think actors are drawn to certain
roles because we connect with the character. The surrealism of stage life is intoxicating!
Once you start you only want more. Since living in the Peace region I have been
involved with a local theater, aptly named Peace Players. I really enjoy my
time with the group. The latest show they preformed was Boeing-Boeing. It’s a quirky
little show about a man who loves women (lots of women). He is a two timer
(well really a three timer) whose shady lifestyle finally catches up with him.
It was very funny and the cast did a fine job. I recommend going to see it if
you ever get the chance. I got to help out back stage, I was the makeup artist
for the female members of the cast. I really enjoyed being part of a production
again, it’s been a while. Peace players has a spring production starting soon,
maybe I’ll free up some time to join in on this one? Here are some photos from Boeing - Boeing enjoy!
Melanie
P.S. Sorry for the photo quality I was on my phone and seated far away from the stage.
