Christmas Time Is Here!

“Christmas Time is Here”

… Well, it was here I’m a little late with the update, again. Christmas was a wonderful, restful, family time. I love it when Christmas time is down time and you can just chill and enjoy each other’s company instead of rushing around catching flights or traveling from town to town. I am blessed enough to have all of my immediate family in one town so we spent the two weeks break together. We went back and forth hosting Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. We ate too much and laughed even more, Christmas really is my favourite time of year. We received some very exciting “Pittman” news during Christmas my brother and his wife are expecting and their expecting TWINS!!!! What shockingly pleasant news. I’m looking forward to next Christmas when there are two new little ones to celebrate with. New Years was also spent with family and at this stage in my life I can’t imagine a better place to spend it (Well, maybe New Years in Paris! Got to look in to that for next year :). I’m not one to make resolutions but I do pray that the New Year will be one of health, wealth, and wisdom for my family and for all of you. Wishing you the greatest year yet!

Summer Time Recap!

Hello Again,
Tonight the snow is on the ground and the winds are biting something fierce. So, what better time to stay indoors and write a little about my summer vacation, right? I thought so too. I had taken a small hiatus from writing blog posts, but now I’m back. I’m hoping to be a little more faithful to the blog, fingers crossed. This summer we had a family vacation to British Columbia(sans Shawn :(). The trip was Fantastic! To be honest, I was a little relieved to say the least. Six Pittmans (and one Perry) on a road trip for two weeks is a bit iffy. All that umm … personality (yeah, that’s it) pent-up into two vehicles for two weeks, well, to say I was apprehensive is an understatement. However, to the pleasant surprise of all of us travellers, the trip was WONDERFUL! We had such a lovely time visiting the beautiful province of BC. Together. After the trip was over I kind of missed seeing everyone everyday (well sort of ;)).

BC is so great and offers so much to its visitors. Some of the highlights were; breathtaking scenery, fresh fish, pirate ship tours of the harbour, Ice wine, cherry picking, museums, Chinese gardens, winding roads, salt sea air, Emily Carr, goats on a roof (look it up), Italian restaurants, and fresh fruit. That is just a few of the joys that BC offers. I’d recommend for anyone to visit there, definitely worth it. We got to see quite a bit of the province, all of it was lovely, but if I had to choose a favourite spot it would be Victoria. I have plans to return there, someday. Seeing BC with the family? … Well … that only made it that much better. Goodbye summer you were great! Hurry back now, ya hear!

Ahh! The Theatre!!!

Hello, Hi, How Are You?
It's been a while hope you are having a great week. Well, I wanted to share a little something you may or may not know about me I am a major theatre buff! I have always been in love with the stage. I love being on stage, back stage, or in a seat watching the stage. I had an amazing job during my high school and university years. I was employed with a company, singing and acting for nine years. It was amazing!!! I love the job I’m at now but those theatre days were some of my best days (so far). There is no better feeling then putting on makeup and a costume and becoming someone or something totally different then who you are or different then what you show others. I think actors are drawn to certain roles because we connect with the character. The surrealism of stage life is intoxicating! Once you start you only want more. Since living in the Peace region I have been involved with a local theater, aptly named Peace Players. I really enjoy my time with the group. The latest show they preformed was Boeing-Boeing. It’s a quirky little show about a man who loves women (lots of women). He is a two timer (well really a three timer) whose shady lifestyle finally catches up with him. It was very funny and the cast did a fine job. I recommend going to see it if you ever get the chance. I got to help out back stage, I was the makeup artist for the female members of the cast. I really enjoyed being part of a production again, it’s been a while. Peace players has a spring production starting soon, maybe I’ll free up some time to join in on this one? Here are some photos from Boeing - Boeing enjoy!

P.S. Sorry for the photo quality I was on my phone and seated far away from the stage.

Bye Bye Christmas!

Hello people,
Well today the snow is falling outside and I’m taking down the Christmas decorations. Yes, I know it’s a little late, but it really pains me to take them down. I love the color, the shine, and the fullness it brings to my home. I hate taking it down, there is always this lonely feeling that I can’t seem to shake. I swear I have separation issues hahaha! Alas, it has to be done so this is the weekend to do it. As I put the Christmas decorations away this will also be my last Christmas related post till next year :( This year my family and I started a new family tradition that I hope to continue on with; we had a night of family Christmas baking. Now, first when this idea was proposed I was a little resistant. I thought it would be a little too much Pittman personality in one kitchen hahaha! However, I decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. We had such a great time baking and laughing together! We got plenty of work done and had a great time doing it. Thanks for the idea Jon it was a great one. Bye bye Christmas for another year. You will be missed. Tonight I’m off to see Les Miserables. I am soooooooo stoked. I’ve been waiting to see this one since I heard of its remake. Les Miserables has ALWAYS been my favorite musical. Tonight will be good! I’ll fill you in about it later. Have a great weekend and a great coming week. Chat later.
