Laffy Taffy Lazy Sort Of Day!

Hello,

Well it’s one of those days. I’m feeling mighty lazy and just ate the last of my banana flavored Laffy Taffy. I’m devastated, no joke. I’m sure I’ll recover … tomorrow. This past week has been pretty normal at work. I’m looking forward to the extended weekend coming up. I get Friday and Monday off for the Thanksgiving holiday. Temperatures in the Peace are dropping and I’m hauling out the sweaters to bundle up. Northern living is beautiful … in the summer. I’ve been reading a lot of blog post lately and lists of fall accomplishments seem to be the norm for blogging content. I am in no mood to do anything today, let alone, make a list of things that need to be done. So, I’ll do what I do best (ONE of the things) and make a list of things I want to purchase. Maybe not this fall, but maybe? Who knows? In any case I’ll have done something productive today or at least made a list of possibilities for Santa. So, here you go...

Summertime Sadness.

Hello,

The official first day of autumn has arrived. I know I said I wouldn’t lament the passing of summer, but with the help of Lana Del Ray’s Summertime Sadness I am in a lamenting mood. I love the first few lines of the song “Kiss me hard before you go summertime sadness I just wanted you to know that, baby, you're the best” - What a way to say goodbye. So, goodbye summer, you will be missed.

Autumn do have its perks, fall fashion is one of them. I love being able to layer my pieces, gearing up for the cooler weather. Leggings and sweaters make it possible to wear my summery dresses all year long. And they always feel warm and cozy!

I bought this dress at the end of the summer season ($10 whoop!). It’s a summer dress but the colors work for fall. I teamed it with my black cardigan. This cardigan is an oldie but a goodie, every wardrobe should have that cozy and versatile black cardie. My new boots are the star of the show. I am so in love with them! Got them for my birthday, what a great gift hey? I think my favorite things about them are: the color, and that they look great with a dress or a pair of denims. I finished off the look with earthy colored accessories. Both are so old I’ve forgotten where I got them, but I like the vibe they bring to the outfit. Thanks again for checking in, hope your fall started out right.

Red Hot!

Hello lovelies,

Well we are into the third week of school already. September is flying by as we speak. Time seems to go much quicker now then when I was a child, don’t think I like that. It makes me feel old, reminds me of times when I heard my grandparents speak of the same thing. I remember as a child thinking a year would take forever. Summers seemed like an eternity and the school year infinite. Now, after the third week back at school I feel that if I blink we will be breaking for Christmas vacation. One thing I do like about this time of year however is autumn. I like the crisp air, colors, harvest, fires, sing-alongs, sweaters, craft sales, boots, and cups of hot tea. I guess I had better enjoy every minute of life while I still have it.

I love the fall trend of colored denim, got myself a couple of pairs for the fall/winter season. These are my “red hot” pair. The color is quite bold so I wore it with a black top, blazer, and shoes. The color of the denim is so bold it needed no competition from a flashy top. I paired the black top with some red and black accessories to tie the outfit together. I’m loving my new denims!

Birthday Bliss!

Hello Darlings,

This past week has been fantastic! It was my birthday, Monday past, and I was spoiled and treated like a queen by my students, family, and friends. I love birthdays, always have. I think it’s very important to make a fuss of the people you love and let loved ones know how happy you are to have them in your life. I try to make the birthdays of family and friends a special one and make them feel appreciated. I’ll let the cat out of the bag, I don’t mind having a fuss made of me either :)  My family and friends did not disappoint again this year. They always make me feel like a million bucks! I had a number of birthday greetings from students and friends. Really, all it takes to brighten a day is a smile and a well wish or two, my day was very bright.  I got treated to cards, gifts, and Ice cream cake at work. After work I went to supper with the family. I was spoiled again with an awesome meal at my favourite resturant, some gifts that left me speechless (a daunting task in itself haha), and the company of some of the closest people in my life. After supper we all came back to my apartment where I was surprised with another ice cream cake and flowers! I had an amazing birthday! So blessed to have the people in my life that I do!
