Ahh! The Theatre!!!

Hello, Hi, How Are You?
It's been a while hope you are having a great week. Well, I wanted to share a little something you may or may not know about me I am a major theatre buff! I have always been in love with the stage. I love being on stage, back stage, or in a seat watching the stage. I had an amazing job during my high school and university years. I was employed with a company, singing and acting for nine years. It was amazing!!! I love the job I’m at now but those theatre days were some of my best days (so far). There is no better feeling then putting on makeup and a costume and becoming someone or something totally different then who you are or different then what you show others. I think actors are drawn to certain roles because we connect with the character. The surrealism of stage life is intoxicating! Once you start you only want more. Since living in the Peace region I have been involved with a local theater, aptly named Peace Players. I really enjoy my time with the group. The latest show they preformed was Boeing-Boeing. It’s a quirky little show about a man who loves women (lots of women). He is a two timer (well really a three timer) whose shady lifestyle finally catches up with him. It was very funny and the cast did a fine job. I recommend going to see it if you ever get the chance. I got to help out back stage, I was the makeup artist for the female members of the cast. I really enjoyed being part of a production again, it’s been a while. Peace players has a spring production starting soon, maybe I’ll free up some time to join in on this one? Here are some photos from Boeing - Boeing enjoy!

P.S. Sorry for the photo quality I was on my phone and seated far away from the stage.

Bye Bye Christmas!

Hello people,
Well today the snow is falling outside and I’m taking down the Christmas decorations. Yes, I know it’s a little late, but it really pains me to take them down. I love the color, the shine, and the fullness it brings to my home. I hate taking it down, there is always this lonely feeling that I can’t seem to shake. I swear I have separation issues hahaha! Alas, it has to be done so this is the weekend to do it. As I put the Christmas decorations away this will also be my last Christmas related post till next year :( This year my family and I started a new family tradition that I hope to continue on with; we had a night of family Christmas baking. Now, first when this idea was proposed I was a little resistant. I thought it would be a little too much Pittman personality in one kitchen hahaha! However, I decided to give it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. We had such a great time baking and laughing together! We got plenty of work done and had a great time doing it. Thanks for the idea Jon it was a great one. Bye bye Christmas for another year. You will be missed. Tonight I’m off to see Les Miserables. I am soooooooo stoked. I’ve been waiting to see this one since I heard of its remake. Les Miserables has ALWAYS been my favorite musical. Tonight will be good! I’ll fill you in about it later. Have a great weekend and a great coming week. Chat later.
Melanie.

Fresh starts!

We'll take a cup of kindness yet, For auld lang syne!

Hello New Year!
A new season, fresh start, clean slate, time to be reborn … no matter how you say it the New Year brings with it HOPE. A chance to start over and change things, I am happy that I have another opportunity to start afresh. Yes, you can begin something new anytime of the year but there is just something with the beginning of a year that inspires one and all to reassess and evaluate life goals. I need to make some changes to my life patterns. I want to work on my personal heath, educational goals, and creative projects. I have some ideas birthing within me. Dreams that I’m hoping and praying will come to fruition in the months to come. The New Year brings a sort of mental detox, a cleansing from stagnate ideas of inadequacies and inabilities. Though I don’t often make resolutions, there are a few goals I’m striving to reach in 2013. I’ll share them on this blog as they develop and take shape. Thanks for sharing in this journey with me it really means a lot.

New Year’s celebrations were fantastic this year a lot of family time, music, good food, and prayers for a bright new year. I’m wishing health and blessing for all of you in the New Year. May all your goals be met and healthy changes be made. Cheers!
Melanie.
