Jewel toned wearing!

Hello lovely creatures!
Having a good day today, getting my pantry (the abyss) organized and getting some last minute things taken care of before I fly off to Newfoundland, aka: heaven, on Thursday. I’m so excited to be going home, it’s been two summers since I’ve been back. Last summer was spent enjoying Europe. This summer I am looking forward to the salt sea air, the “magic” beach in Cape Freels, chilly evenings, meeting up with my besties, picture taking, road tripping, concert going, wedding crashing (not really, I have an invite, just sounds cooler) sightseeing, beachcombing, and nan’s homemade bread eating. Ahhhh there, I think I’ve covered most of it. I’M SO EXCITED!!!!! So ya, three days and I’m hopping a plane to my kind of paradise! My posting may be a little less because of the festivities, but I’ll try to keep in contact for the most part. If not, then I’ll have oodles to tell on my return and absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?
Right, well enough of my ramblings about my trip, today’s post is another fashion post. I am taking advantage of this fantastic summer heat and wearing my sun dresses as much as I can, which is basically every day. It just makes sense, they are cool, easy, and look supper cute. The dress in this post was an eBay buy. I got it last summer for a decent price, the cost escapes me right now. I love the multicolored bottom, the feminine ruffle of the neck line, and the fact that it has pockets, beautiful DEEP pockets! I teamed it with some purple leggings, navy shoes, and matching accessories. I like how it turned out, the whole outfit has the jewel toned element running through it. The necklace is my favorite piece of the outfit. Its chunkiness has such a presence there’s no need for other jewelry, and it contains all the colors of the outfit, bringing all the pieces together. Had my dad snap the photos this time, we shot by some old trains and tracks just outside of town. I think he did a bang up job, thanks dad! I may get time to squeeze in one more post before I fly off, we’ll see? Chat soon.

Simple is simply better!

Hello darlings!

A something in a summer’s Day
As slow her flambeaux burn away
Which solemnizes me.

A something in a summer’s noon —
A depth — an Azure — a perfume —
Transcending ecstasy.

And still within a summer’s night
A something so transporting bright
I clap my hands to see —

Then veil my too inspecting face
Lets such a subtle — shimmering grace
Flutter too far for me —

The wizard fingers never rest —
The purple brook within the breast
Still chafes it narrow bed —

Still rears the East her amber Flag —
Guides still the sun along the Crag
His Caravan of Red —

So looking on — the night — the morn
Conclude the wonder gay —
And I meet, coming thro’ the dews
Another summer’s Day!
-Emily Dickinson

Wanted to wear this dress, on this beautiful summers day, without fancy accessories or glam. The dress is lovely enough on its own! One of my favorite pieces I've purchased this summer. The photos were taken by my lovely mother, outside of our town's museum.Their current exhibit is on canoeing, pretty interesting. I like being a tourist in my hometown. Sometimes when you live in a place you can take for granted the great things it has to offer. They have a lovely spot there, if you're from here, or come for a visit, you should check it out!

Nice day for a white wedding!

Hello loves!
How are you enjoying summer thus far? The weather has been so wonderful in the Peace region. I love the endless days of nothing to do, and no commitments. Here is one of my favorite summer quotes: “Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.  ~Sam Keen”. So true! I have to confess, I’m enjoying the lazy days. It’s hard to believe summer is half way done, time is flying by. One of my dear friends got married this past Saturday, and while it was a hot one, it was one of the loveliest weddings I have ever attended. The bride was glowing, her man was so happy, the church and reception hall were perfect. I enjoyed my day to the fullest and was happy to have been a part of her special day. Best wishes to the bride and groom, Kristina and Robin I’m wishing you a life time of joy and love!!!

Lazy Days Of Summer

Hello there!
Back again with a mid-week blog post; hope your week is going wonderful so far. Mine has been great! Monday was laid back, got some laundry done and was treated to some amazing lasagna, compliments of Yvonne. Tuesday brought an impromptu shopping trip to Grande Prairie. Then, I returned home and met up with Kristina for dinner at the Blue Bridge Restaurant followed by her hen party, thrown by her sister. Kristina’s Wedding is in two days! Crazy how fast it’s come, looking forward to it.  Today was wonderful! I started the day by having brunch with Yvonne, Crystal, and Mom. It was lovely to get out and laugh with the girls, and Java Domain always has great food. After brunch we went thrifting and I bought some new linens, scarves for my hair, buttons, and two of the sweetest teacups you’ve ever seen. We also stopped by the fruit truck from British Columbia to get some fresh fruit. They had my favorite, white cherries! Soooooo excited! When we came home there was a quick thunder storm, I LOVE thunder storms.Later, we had some delicious pineapple chicken for supper. This evening I’m relaxing, writing my blog post, and listening to the angelic warbling of Miss Billie Holiday. It’s been a perfect summer day! Hope your day was just as lovely.

Spring flew swiftly by, and summer came; and if the village had been beautiful at first, it was now in the full glow and luxuriance of its richness. The great trees, which had looked shrunken and bare in the earlier months, had now burst into strong life and health; and stretching forth their green arms over the thirsty ground, converted open and naked spots into choice nooks, where was a deep and pleasant shade from which to look upon the wide prospect, steeped in sunshine, which lay stretched out beyond. The earth had donned her mantle of brightest green; and shed her richest perfumes abroad. It was the prime and vigour of the year; all things were glad and flourishing.

Oh, the summer night
Has a smile of light
And she sits on a sapphire throne.
