Tea for two ... or three ... or more!

Hello there loves,
Wow, June has been a crazy month! It’s been a world wind of birthdays, father’s day, yard sales, year-end parties, grad parties, and bridal showers. All that, on top of work and everyday life makes for a busy June month. Finally, it all has come to an end. School is finished and life is slowing enough to catch my breath. My summer has started and I’m loving it! I’m looking forward to picnics, reading, traveling, seeing old friends, and new places. It’s a new kind of busy, but it will be welcomed!

Tuesday past, I hosted a tea party themed bridal shower for my friend, Kristina. She is getting married next month and we (some of my friends from work) wanted to surprise her with a relaxing night of wine, laughs, and lingerie. She is a fan of tea, so I thought what better way to celebrate her nuptials then putting on hats and pearls and throwing an old fashioned High Tea. The night went great! We all had a great time and we all looked great. Kristina got quite a surprise and went home with a smile and some really cute articles of clothing to add to her closet.

Enjoy the photos:

I made these cute invitations for the party. I found this awesome template online and prettied them up with some ink and decals.

I found some teapots and cups at the local thrift store, bought some fresh flowers, and decorated my apartment with these little arrangements! they turned out fantastic!

The ladies of the court!!!

Had some hats and "pearls" available for the ladies.

Some of the food, we had a great spread! thanks for pitchen' in with the food ladies!

I tried making fondant for the first time, made these little hats for the cupcakes. They turned out ok, I'll get better with practice, right?

The bride-to-be!

My apron served as a make shift dress! I thought she looked great!

Happy bride, happier husband?

Toasting the bride!

Strawberry short cake skewers! Soooo good!

Thanks for tuning in again. Now, go and pour yourselves a nice warm cup of tea.

There's just something about polka dots!

Hello world,

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest post. I am lovin’ the summer weather, and the activities it brings. This past weekend has brought a number of summery activities, and it’s just the beginning, it’s going to be a great summer! Friday, I hit a few yard sales after work. On Saturday, My sister-in-law and I had our own little yard sale. It was fun, and we made some money while getting rid of things we no longer needed. I’d call it a good day! Saturday night, I went to my friend’s river lot, where we had a BBQ to celebrate her convocation. Very proud of her, a mother of two, working a full time job and still manages to finish with amazing grades. Cherise, here’s your shout out!!! Today, there was church in the morning and now I’m relaxing. I love relaxing on a summer evening!
This is fashion post number three. The whole outfit reminds me of my trip last summer. My friend Kristina and I spent last summer traveling around the UK and France. It was a dream vacation and we enjoyed every minute of it (almost every minute, there was a 10 hour bus ride from London to Paris). I purchased this dress specifically to wear while I was in Ireland. Yes it may be a little over kill! but I still love it. Green and Ireland, they just go hand in hand! To break up the solid green palette, I accessorised with a neutral colored scarf. I love the lace and polka dot detail in the scarf. The ring and bag were also bought during my trip, it all brings backs such great memories.

P.S. I love polka dots!

Father's Day Weekend!

Hellooooo!
Well it’s been a while since I last posted, this past week has been a little busy. Finishing and starting the school year seems to be the craziest of times. I just have to keep in mind that the end is near!!!!! It’s really not that bad, I’m just looking forward to summer. This will be a shorter post, just a quick overview of my weekend. Got in some good yard sailing, and had our year end staff party – little golfing, BBQ, music, and the famed Louis Riel relay race. I also got to spend Sunday with my family, celebrating our wonderful father. What a privilege and blessing to be raised by such a loving, giving, and caring example. Love you dad!
